First Presbyterian Church
The ministry team responsible for personnel, property, and finance is called the Support Team. Anyone is welcome to join this essential team by attending the monthly meetings. Additionally, we have a volunteer group called “Building and Grounds” that meets weekly (see calendar) to undertake various tasks around the church, saving us thousands of dollars each year we would otherwise need to spend on repairs and maintenance. The B & G group welcomes all volunteers with coffee, donuts, and great conversation.
We joyfully support the local and global ministries of our church with our time, talent, and treasure. Our members and friends give generously in many ways, including volunteering their time and giving their finances.
We invite people to pledge their financial support to God’s work in the church by letting us know how much they plan to give in the coming year. Pledging helps our church session (board), compose the budget for the upcoming year. The budget tells the story of our estimated donations and the ministries we plan on funding with these gifts. Giving towards the budget helps to pay our staff, keep our property in great shape, and support the many ministries of our church.
People also give by donating additional funds towards specific ministries and mission projects, contributing stocks and other assets, and including the church as a beneficiary in their will.
